Haiku poems date from 9th century Japan to the present day. Haiku is more than a type of poem; it is a way of looking at the physical world and seeing something deeper, like the very nature of existence.
October sky’s
a leaf detaches itself from it’s branch
floats silently swaying in dance
Raindrop falling
braces to hit the ground
bursts upon impact to smaller drops
Cloudy night
wind blowing hard from the east
strips the night bare from it’s cloudy cover
Blood leave the body
through a fresh cut
only to clot in retaliation
August winds
heavy with sand
blow it’s burden on my doorstep
Hazy eyes
pearly white
blink the tears down the cheeks
Holy month
welcome back old friend
good to see you this time around
